The dreaded words... "Your son was hit by a car"
You know those words, right? The ones you never ever want to hear?
Well- Last week I heard them.
Abby, Logan and 2 friends, Allie and Hunter Lindsey, went bike riding. They decided to go down by the church and ride. They've done it several times and they've been just fine.
They were cruising down a slight hill and didn't stop at the stop sign. Abby went through just fine. Logan was behind her and got hit. Hunter immediately came back to the house to tell me and at first I thought, "Ya, Right..." Then he said--- I'm serious. Logan was hit by a car and he's hurt.
My stomach dropped. My heart dropped. I immediately grabbed my keys, purse and whatever else and got in the van and left. I thought the absolute worst. He's dead. He's cracked his head. Will life flight come? Breathe Breathe........
I got to the accident site about a block away. (37th and Madison) and saw Logan sitting up on the curb. PHEW! BIG DEEP BREATH NOW. It would be okay.
Not only 2 minutes later 2 ambulances pulled up.
Then 4 cop cars!
Here's a picture of the bike. You can see where the pedal scratched the front bumper of the car.
Logan was okay. Obviously shaken- scared and all of that. He had some road rash on his shoulder, and on his arm. We didn't have him go to the hospital... we just observed him and he was doing fine later that night.
The family that hit him said that Logan didn't stop at all at the stop sign and they admitted they weren't really watching the road. So it was an error on both sides. We are not pressing charges or anything. They did offer to buy him a new bike but we declined. They were very shaken up about it.
You can bet that we've had a lot of talks about the importance of wearing your helmet (which he was NOT wearing) and the importance of stopping at stop signs.
WOW. What an emotional day. We were all so shook up that we decided to go to ice cream for dinner. :)

Boys Birthdays
Both of our cute boys have had their birthdays already this summer! Ethan was the end of May and Logan the middle of June. I can't believe how big they are getting.
The biggest present that Ethan gave me was he is now going potty in the big boy potty! He will poop and pee in the big boy potty! NO MORE DIAPERS! I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am to not have to buy diapers anymore.
Happy Days of Birth to our two boys!

The Broken Arm....
Two weeks ago we were at some friends house playing games. Kids were downstairs, adults were upstairs. Kids were wrestling and playing and all of a sudden Logan came upstairs bawling. Not just crying- but bawling his eyes out. It looked fine. We told Logan, tough it up man. You are tough. Well the weeks have gone by and Logan barely uses his arm. His right arm. He really just held it to his side and wouldn’t use it. Jared and I would both say- LOGAN- use your arm dude! Well- fast forward to last Saturday and we took the kids bowling and Logan wouldn’t use his right arm to bowl. When we told him too- he just cried and cried and cried. So Jared looked at his arm. There was a bump right above his wrist. It was awfully swollen too. So, we took Logan to InstaCare.
The
Xray Technician had just left. So we had
to wait until Sunday to take him. Sure
enough, it was broken. I’m not sure if
you can tell by this picture… but it’s a good break. Logan would need surgery on MOnday.
So our cute little
Logan went under anesthesia today for the first time and had a little bit of a
rough time coming out of it but he made it.
And he has a super cool blue WATERPROOF cast on. Lucky duck!
And humptey dumptey is
back together again. We love our Logan.

Loganette
The other day, Logan came in to the family room, where Jared and I were relaxing and he was dressed like this picture below! Apparently, Abby and Logan let each other dress the other in their own clothes. Oh boy. Never a dull moment!

Valentine's Box
Do you remember when we would make Valentine's Day Boxes for your school Valentine's Day Party? I was so excited when Logan's Teacher asked that they create one of their own to bring to class. There was a competition to see who could bring the coolest Valentine's Day Box.
I mentioned it to Logan and Jared. The two of them got to thinking and the idea of this piano was born.
It looks fantastic.
I hope his class loves it too!

Happy 5th Birthday Logan!!
Happy Birthday Little Man!
Logan turned 5 years old yesterday! My how time flies!! Here are some of his baby pictures.
5 things I love about Logan--
1. He has the ability to perform just like his Dad. He can sing and loves to entertain a crowd.
2. He is still my little snuggle bug. He loves to snuggle with me in my bed or in a rocking chair!!
3. He is a computer wiz!! He can run anything that can be plugged in! He's awesome!
4. He's a great brother to Abby and Gracie and now Ethan! He's so helpful and loving!!
5. Logan has always had a tender heart and I absolutely love his soft side.
Logan, I love you and I'm grateful you are in our family!!
