beware... this is a long post.
5:30 am WIDE awake. Why? I just want to sleep a little longer. Roll over, hide eyes from the sun.
6:00 am I hear Ethan, so I go get him out of his crib and bring him to my bed. Oh and here comes Gracie. I change both of their bottoms and get them Sippy cups of milk. Put on cartoons and then lay down on my bed hoping for a bit more sleep.
7:00 am Wake up older kids for school. Logan gets up easily. Abby, well, it’s a little bit of a struggle. She loves to sleep in. (Just like her Dad.) Logan gets up, gets dressed and then makes his bed. Then he goes in the family room to watch a few cartoons.
7:15 am still trying to get Abby up. I finally tell her that if she’s not up in 5 minutes then she will get to go to school in her pajamas. She doesn’t like that idea so she finally gets up and going.
7:30 am Make breakfast for kids. Today the kids chose to have cereal in a baggie. The older ones like to take it out to the bus with them. The younger ones like to be more mobile than sitting at the table for breakfast.
7:45 am out the door to the bus. The big kids meet the bus at 7:50am right in front of our house and the little kids and I sit and watch out the big windows for the bus to come.
7:55 am Bus picks up big kids, Gracie wants to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse next, so I put that on for the two little kids.
8 am I hop in the shower.
8:15 am Out of the shower, dressed, towel wrapped on hair to dry. I go to the kitchen and get out a plastic cup and pour me a Dr. Pepper over ice. (No judging! Some folks have coffee—I have Dr. Pepper!!)
8:30 are Kids are still doing okay, so I throw in a batch of laundry. Then I unload the dishwasher. I start to load it back up, when my Mom calls. I love when she calls in the morning so we can chat. I’m usually too sleepy at night to talk!
9:00 am Hang up with Mom, Time to change the laundry, Blow dry hair, get little kids dressed for the day.
9:30 am Play trains with Ethan and Polly Pockets with Gracie, change diapers, get Sippy cups. Ethan takes Gracie’s Polly Pocket… he screams, she hits. I talk to them about sharing and not hitting.
10:00 are Change laundry; make sure my bed is made so I can put clean clothes on my bed.
10:15 am Talk with Jared. He is in Colorado doing a gig for a High School in Parker Colorado with T Minus 5.
10:30 am Change laundry, more clean clothes on bed. Time to fold! Put on a show in my room that I can fold clothes to.
11:00 are Ethan is hungry, so is Gracie. We find something to eat for lunch. Ramen Noodles!! We make it and then eat.
11:30 are Ethan goes down for a nap and Gracie has quiet time in her room. I fold more clothes and keep the laundry cycle going.
1:00 pm I check my email and Facebook. Respond to emails, look at blogs, and get crafty ideas. Surf the web. Work on A Cappellastock stuff, Look for ideas for Girls Camp… etc.
3:00 pm Ethan is awake. Gracie, Ethan and I read stories, play doggies and sing songs and dance around. I love when I can spend time with just the two little kids.
4:00pm Start thinking about dinner. Our weekly menu plan tells us that we are having Baked Potatoes for dinner. I scrub potatoes, put them in tin foil, put them in the oven. Meanwhile, I shred the cheese; get the cream corn out and in a bowl for the microwave. Do a quick clean up in the kitchen.
4:30pm Big kids are home from school. They want something to snack on before dinner. We talk about their day and we do some homework.
5:30pm Dinner time. We eat, laugh, talk and share stories. The kids like to make up stories and tell them around the dinner table.
6:00pm Dishes, relax, watch TV or just hang out as a family. Love this time of day.
6:50pm 10 minute clean up. We clean everything off the floors. And straighten the house before bed.
7:00 pm it’s bedtime! Time to brush teeth, go potty and head to bed! I know to some, this may seem really early. However, it takes my angels FOREVER to fall asleep and they are grouchy if they don’t get enough sleep so we start the routine at 7pm. Once they are all ready for bed, we say prayers; sing a song, and sometimes a story.
7:30 pm Abby doesn’t want to go to bed. She thinks she can stay up late and then still be happy in the morning when she wakes up. Nope. Not the case. Go back in and rub Abby’s back.
7:45 pm Logan is scared. He thinks he needs to sleep with me so he won’t be scared. I tell him he needs to sleep in his bed until 9pm and if he is still awake, he can come to my bed. (Usually, he is OUT before it comes to this!)
8pm it’s MY time! I am teaching myself how to crochet. I’ve been working on a blanket. One of my goals for this year was to learn something new and LOVE it. So- I’m trying crocheting. So far, it’s relaxing and it’s enjoyable; I just haven’t discovered the LOVE for it yet, but I know it will come. Practice makes perfect!
9pm Here in Wyoming, we don’t get the local stations. So we wait until 9pm until our “shows” come on. I watch something on TV, whatever it is. I like to watch Chuck, The Bachelor, No Ordinary Family, The Good Wife, The Mentalist, and all the shows on HGTV. I love having a DVR so that I can watch shows without commercials. Still crocheting.
10:15pm Jared calls and says he had a great day and is headed to bed. I tell him goodnight, say prayers and then I relax on my bed until I fall asleep. GOODNIGHT.
