Jared and i stayed home with the little kids. We got them into bed at 10 and then relaxed a bit and checked in online for our flight. We knew that our flight was going to leave at 5am in Vegas. So Jared and I lay down for a bit. At 1 am we get a phone call saying they have changed our flight to the next day! Um UNACCEPTABLE! We are going on this trip for a wedding! Need to be there pronto! We talk to a travel agent and she said there was other flights we could get on so just get to Vegas.
We left at 230am. We really hadn't slept at all. We were tired but pumped and ready for our flight. We got to the McCarren airport and got to the ticket counter and holy smokes. We found out that there was no crew to fly our plane! And the only thing that could be done was to have us wait until 1029pm tonight. Fly to NY all night. Then get on a straight shot from NY to Grenada. We will get there a half day later but that's ok.
The next big issue was what in the crap do we do for 18 hours!!
The airline offered us a hotel voucher and food vouchers for the day. That's great but the hotel wouldn't let us check in until after 3pm. Or we could check in at 5am but be out of the hotel room by noon! Ugh!
We went to the hotel anyway. South Pointe. We ate breakfast and were so tired! And did you know there is a lot of crazy people wandering the casinos at 5 in the morning? After breakfast we went to the front desk and said we would pay for a room. We were just so stinking tired. The lady took pity on us and we gave us a room. Free! Then we had our voucher so we went to sleep at about 6 in the morning. At noon we woke up and got ready for the day. Went to Jurassic World got some icecream and went back to our room. We crashed again until 6pm and then lazily got up and got ready to head back to the airport. We are currently sitting in the airport waiting for our flight to New York. We have a 2 hr layover.
I've always wanted to go to NY. Guess for now the airport will have to do.
