In the movie Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Professor Dumbledore is talking with Harry just after he killed the giant snake, and the snakes master, and makes the following statement, "It is our choices, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities."

The choices we make are sometimes not what we think are the right one's. We will make mistakes. When those mistakes do occur, what happens next? Surround yourself with those who will help you and get you back on the path
Lehi also mentioned the result of our choices as he talked about the large and spacious building and those in it pointing fingers at those holding to the rod of iron. Some became ashamed and chose to let go of the rod and fell off the path and became lost.
There are 3 R's in choices. The Right to choose, the Responsibility to choose, and then to live the Results of the choice you make.
